After picking up the first book, my teenage daughter was delighted when I received a notification that the sequel had arrived. I personally haven't read it, but she's ditched the iPad for the over the past few days and can't put it down! With all the hype around the Royal Wedding at the moment, it's an essential read for people with an interest in the monarchy!
I received a free copy of this book to review. The story continues in book two of this series. Very likable characters, lots of action, and great imagination of a technologically advanced Great Britain. I definitely am waiting for book three.
Loved this unique view of royalty. I found myself cheering for her. Great twist on alternative history with a mystery, and sci fi twist. Find out if she finds her prince in this book.
I was given this book for free to read and review. If you like classic novels like those by Jane Austin you will like this book. The writing had the same flair but the book also has a steam punk twist. It is sweet in its romantic sensibility but it also has adventure, mystery, and intrigue. This is the second book in a trilogy and though you don't have to read the first book to know what is going on because they do give some backstory I would suggest reading book one. I'm not a big fan of the Victorian style writing I tend to find it boring but these books have some authorian mythology that I found interesting so it kept me a little more entertained than most.
First and foremost, I received this novel as an advanced reader's copy from the author for an honest review, using Hidden Gems Books.

"The Queen of England Grand Tour" is a nice little Steampunk-style story. The writing is very well done! I loved the use of language throughout the novel (as well as in the first book, which was just as awesome). I really loved the character of Queen Juliette, who was thrust into the role in the first novel after the deaths of most of the royal family.

"Grand Tour" was everything I was looking for in a Steampunk novel. There were airships and adventure; the action was great as well.
I have a weakness for a well done alternative history tale, especially when mixed with other genres, so it’s not really a surprise that I found myself delighted to return to the world of Courtney Brandt’s The Queen of England series. I loved book 1, Coronation and glommed onto Book 2, Grand Tour. This is a wonderful and exciting gaslamp fantasy tale set in a steampunk world with alchemy, magic (and unicorns, Excalibur, etc.), adventure, intrigue, conspiracies and even a bit of romance, and with a wonderful heroine in Juliette who comes to the crown of England after a horrible dirigible accident kills off Queen Victoria and much of the British aristocracy. Both books deal with the aftermath of the young Queen’s coming to power, with book 2 following Juliette on a Grand Tour (via dirigible, of course) that’s so much more than a simple trip. Once again we get a book that is wonderfully written and filled with perfectly crafted characters. As I expected, I had a blast reading this second book - and while it’s now 2am it was worth the read. A true endorsement of ever there was one. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. This book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely “one to read”, and it is easy to highly recommend it. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
Just like the first book in the series, this novel is permeated with an enchanted atmosphere. There is also a lot of suspense and the added twist of international travel in a carefully imagined world full of both magic and danger. I highly recommend it!
