The Lost Girl Fear Street Relaunch R L Stine 9781250051639 Books

For being a reboot of an old series, I was impressed that the author didn't seem to lose any steam in between. This book has all of the characteristics that made the series popular the first time. The characters are interesting, the plot thickens as the book progresses and the horror aspects are truly horrifying.

I liked all of the obviously fifties-themed things that the author used to make the atmosphere seem more believable. This was a good choice to start a new wave of this series.

Both long time fans and new readers will likely get enjoyment from this story. It was good to get back to fear Street.

The Lost Girl Fear Street Relaunch R L Stine 9781250051639 Books Reviews

A great addition to the Fear Street collection and one of the best I've read. RL Stine is the master.
Purchased as a Christmas gift for my 13 year old granddaughter. She loves mysteries. As usual timely delivery.
Loved it I'm so glad that he came back with these books and started writing again
Purchased this and 2 other books by Stine for my 13 year old daughter and she zipped through them. Said she loved them and wants me to order more! It's difficult to find stuff she likes to read, so the wife and I give this 2 big THUMBS UP!!!
I loved this book and reminded me of my childhood and the Goosebumps series. This was such a quick and easy read, it was delivered on a Saturday and I finished it the same day before bed. Of course this is for a younger audience, but the storyline worked well. I was hoping for a little bit more "scare" or "fright" within the reading, but it was still well done and fun to read. Well done, R. L. Stine.
So far this Fear Street book has made it to my favorites! This book gave me the same feel as the older Fear Street books I've read, unlike Don't Stay Up Late, (I was so disappointed in that book) but I had a feeling R.L Stine would do amazing with Lost Girl which he did just that! Yes, some of it was a little predictable, but it did have a little bit of a twist at the end. Lost Girl has gotten me more excited to the new Fear Street to come!

If you are a huge Fear Street fan, this is the book for you!
First up - no details of the plot in this review. This is more about a fun nostalgia trip that was "The Lost Girl".

I'm turning 30 this year, so I grew up with a healthy dose of R.L. Stine's "Goosebumps" and "Fear Street" in the mid-90s. I remember some of the latter being quite gruesome when I first picked them up around 8-12 years old, but having older siblings I was also exposed to a number of movies and TV way outside my age range - "Terminator 2" and "Scream" are ones that stick out most prominently. Speaking of age ranges - I guess it's the other way around with this book!

That being said, this return visit retains a lot of the old-school "Fear Street" atmosphere with the necessary details updated for today's teen generation. I think it goes without saying it's not the greatest piece of literature of all time, but it's simple and effective - much like the teen slasher flicks of the mid- to late-90's, with some supernatural elements and just enough gory details.

I am happy to add this to the at least 100 of the books [between the old "Fear Street" and "Goosebumps" series] that I recently found boxed up in my basement! Hope to see some more from R.L. Stine soon - still a fan after 20+ years!
I used to love reading R.L Stine and other horror authors in middle school, and when I found out he was writing new books in the fear street collection I had to have them. I ordered this book, Party Games, and Don't be Afraid of the Dark. I really liked this one. It is about a young girl who is living in the 1950's who tragically loses her father and then is never heard of again. Fast forward to present day, and she's a new student at a local high school. Is she a ghost or something else? Other young teens start to be friend her and awful things start to happen when they are with her. Who is she, and what is going on? I thought the book was pretty creepy, their are some very disturbing and graphic scenes through out the book. I liked the plot, it was very interesting and the twist at the end was surprising. I didn't like her relationship with a boy she had known in the 50's who tried to rape her and then they are madly in love in the present. That doesn't make sense. But over all, I enjoyed it and it was a quick, fun, creepy read to bring back the nostalgia.
