The Evolution of Claire Jurassic World Tess Sharpe Books
"The Evolution of Claire" is a prequel to the latest Jurassic films. As such, fans of the series expect a certain undercurrent of ethical discussion regarding the usage of genetic power, the exploitation of extinct animals, and the workings of (ultimately doomed to fail) theme park. These expectations are sparsely met, while YA readers will get a thrill out of the juvenile romance, clunkily written side characters, and millennial-minded dialogue. With a sprinkle of anachronisms and jarring tonal shifts, this novel is hampered by its genre more than anything else. Dinosaur lovers looking to get a taste of an extended Jurassic universe will find some meat on the bones, but those looking for a more adult take might find themselves with an empty stomach. Not quite clever lines aside, the novel excels when it purports to be a Crichton-esque exploration of theme park and scientific ethics. But these moments are fewer than one would like and routinely interrupted by a fluffy romance, a one-dimensional "mansplaining" caricature named Wyatt, and less than believable dialogue among promising and gifted college students. It's an enjoyable read, but not the most promising start to movie tie-ins for this dinosaur franchise.

The Evolution of Claire Jurassic World Tess Sharpe Books Reviews
I was hesitant because I love the Jurassic Empire so much! This book was in depth, relatable, and humanized my favorite character. I'm not a fan of YA novels, but this didn't read like one at all! I literally laid in one spot for 20 minutes contemplating the whole book when I was finished, mascara burning my eyes from crying so hard.
A vey good book, with plot twists you wouldn't expect. Had many loveable charaters, and unique personalitys.
I was expecting there to be allot of typical YA romance, but was plesently suprised! It was great getting to know Clarie better, but was slightly confused by her. she was veryconflicted all the time. The boy she was in love with annoyed me for most of the book, because I thougt his charater had no layers; untill the last eight chapters. I will warn you the ending is sad, so if you dont like sad endings don't read this. Good book all and all defintly recomend!
If Claire Dearing is one of your favorite characters in the franchise, this book is a must.
At the young age of 19, we meet Claire just days before heading to Isla Nublar and never looking back. She’s always been ambitious and ruthless, but this book tells the story of how a teenage girl embraces that force within her and wears it as her armor. She’s not scared to admit that she wants to rule the world.
A prequel where you see how both the Operations Manager Claire and the Dinosaur rights activist Claire once coexisted in the brain and heart of a poli-sci student with a bright mind.
I quite liked it. It presents a very satisfying bridge between the differences we see in the tough business woman in the original JW, and the more empathetic person who is fighting for the dinosaurs in Fallen Kingdom - while also offering some interesting history of the 2nd park itself.
A great read, but I’d say for ages 13 and up -it’s definitely meant for teenagers, not young children, and some of the underlying themes reflect this
I really loved this book a lot. I already loved Claire before. I read it but this book made me love her even more. I didn’t want to stop reading the book, and after finishing it I plan on reading again (which is something I very rarely do). If you have an ambitious girl in your life she might really enjoy this book. It reads like a young adult novel, which I don’t understand people complaing about since that’s what it is. If your hoping for a more adult dinosaur book go read the orignal Jurassic Park. For a young adult novel I still enjoyed it a lot and I hope they continue making Jurassic books like this.
Overall I thought the book was ok but the main issue I had with the book was its lack of well developed characters overall that seemed to occur to try to make the female characters seem stronger. The writer presented the make characters negatively for the most part, best exemplified by the overly stereotyped Wyatt, while depicting all the female characters as alpha personalities lacking in little when it comes to skills or abilities. I thought Wu was given a bit more attention and not made so one dimensional as he was in the movies though, so that's something at least. I hope, if there are further stories, there is more story and less agenda.
Look, I’ll admit it the only reason I decided to give “The Evolution of Claire” a shot was because it’s a tie-in to the Jurassic Park franchise, and I’m kind of a completist when it comes to my favorite franchises. The prospect of reading a novel about a young Claire Dearing in her early days at Jurassic World did, admittedly, pique my interest; less interest-piquing, however, was reading about Claire “falling head over heels for a fellow student named Justin,” as the book’s description laid out. Sorry, but teenage-romance? Just ain’t my bag.
Thankfully, despite the book having a few too many detours into “teenager”-dom along the way, I thought that the core story that Tess Sharpe told here was actually pretty interesting, and included a lot of fun nods to the franchise’s lore. It also doesn’t feel like a book that was written just to profit off of a big IP, which I appreciate – you can feel the love that Sharpe has for this franchise, and – at least for me – that went a long way towards getting me through some of the more clichéd YA-esque material. This isn’t a great read – it’s certainly not up there with Crichton’s original masterpiece, or even his follow-up “The Lost World” – but as a piece of tie-in material meant to boost interest in the property, while also more fully developing one of the series’ primary protagonists, it works pretty well.
